While living in Dubai, Dunya, originally from Brazil, fell in love with belly dance. From there she travelled to Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey to gain a deeper understanding of the dance and the cultures attached to it.

Since moving to Switzerland 13 years ago, she has founded her own dance school in Lucerne.

In 2011 she has founded, with some of her best students, the Dunya's Dream Dance Company. Dancing is their passion. They have been able to spread the joy and charm of the Middle East to many events.
